COVID-19 is everywhere. Yep, every-where. Schools across the country are closed down. Many stores and shops go bankrupt. Thousands lose their jobs or get less pay. Our lives suddenly shrink to the size of the room we live in. Obviously, the world is suffering a health crisis, but it is also struggling to sustain the economy and society.

However, tough time creates great innovators. This adversity might be the perfect opportunity for groundbreaking technological inventions. "Hack Covy" - ONLINE HACKATHON, with the main theme being COVID-19 will be where technology and startup lovers come together to create a solution for the pressing issues that the pandemic has caused. This will be one of the most humanitarian hackathons you have ever experienced.

All around the world, hackathons that aim to solve problems relating to COVID-19 are being organized and receiving tremendous support from the general public. For example, Finland’s Hack The Crisis attracted over 2000 participants, and Latvia’s Hack Force received over 850 entries. Germany tops the charts with over 42968 participants and over 800 entries for the WirvsVirus hackathon. The time is now for Vietnam to join this realistic and meaningful movement!

As you participate in the HackCovy challenge, you, along with your teammates, will develop a technological product that aims to solve problems in one of the six areas - Education, Healthcare, Environment, Governance, Inequality, and Economy - within 48 hours. The categories are designed based on UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Although developers make up a crucial part of the teams in the hackathon, it does not mean you cannot join if you do not have coding knowledge! HackCovy also welcomes entrepreneurs (dealing with brainstorming ideas, operating mechanisms, development direction) and designers (dealing with graphic and UX/UI design), as well as anyone who believes they can contribute to the cause.
