EVENT INFORMATION

From the organizer:

The Italian Embassy in Hanoi is delighted to bring to Vietnam the digital exhibition “Magister Raffaello”, produced by the Italian creative media company “Magister Art” and promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to celebrate the 500th anniversary since the death of one of the greatest artists of the Italian Renaissance, Raphael.

We are particularly proud to announce that Hanoi will be the first city in the world to host this innovative exhibition, which will be displayed at the Museum of Hanoi from the 8th of September to the 31st of October. Opening hours are: Tuesday to Sunday, 8.30-11.30 am, 1.30-5.00 pm. The entrance is free.

To avoid large gatherings, the exhibition inauguration will be held online on the 6th of September at 10:00. You are kindly invited to follow the live streaming on the Museum of Hanoi and the Italian Embassy’s Facebook pages.

Culture is able to overcome all barriers and reach the public even in the difficult times we are experiencing. Visitors of Magister Raffaello will enjoy this unique exhibition in a perfectly safe environment where all preventive sanitary measures are fully respected and implemented.

Magister Raffaello is conceived as an unprecedented experiential journey, narrated through the key artworks by Raphael, which unfold as the visitor moves through a sequence of digital installations that retrace the artist’s life and the cities where he lived and worked.

Curated by the renowned art historian Claudio Strinati, with the contribution of a scientific committee comprising leading experts on Raphael’s art, the exhibition goes beyond the concept of a “multimedia production”, blending together scientific rigour, technological innovation and artistic talent, designed to have a unique emotional impact on visitors.

Along the exhibition itinerary, the visitor will encounter a variety of media, including images, narrations and music, which provide a comprehensive experience of the artist’s genius and explain the essential place he holds within the History of Art.

Raphael’s oeuvre is experienced in its historical context with references to artists, writers, philosophers and contemporaries, who were shaping his mind-set and influencing his work. All these characters populate an ideal theatrical stage, metaphorically recreated in the exhibition.

Magister Raffaello perfectly combines state-of-the-art technology and environmental sustainability, thanks to its modular, waste-free and flexible settings. No personnel needed to travel from Italy to set up the exhibition, as this was done directly by local technicians with remote support provided by Magister Art. The staff of the Museum of Hanoi has been specifically trained to manage the exhibition and ensure the safe and enjoyable fruition by the public.

The exhibition proposes two itineraries, one for adults and one for children. They can be accessed via audioguides - available at the Museum - or via mobile phone by freely downloading the Magister Art App - in this case, visitors are required to bring their own headphones. All contents are available in Vietnamese as well as in Italian, English and Spanish.

The exhibition is organised in close cooperation with the People’s Committee of Hanoi and the Museum of Hanoi and has received the support of the following Italian companies operating in Vietnam: Ariston Thermo Group, Bonfiglioli, CAE, dMTV, Ghella, Hung Yen, Piaggio Vietnam and JAS.
