“Colour is everything, black & white is more” – Dominic Rouse.
This August, get ready to step into a musical world of black and white, striking Jazz music translated through quick fingers on piano keys.
Our special guest of the night is the masterful American pianist Myra Melford, whom San Francisco Chronicle described as an "explosive player, a virtuoso who shocks and soothes, and can make the piano stand up and do things it doesn't seem to have been designed for." Featuring Myra Melford on piano, Stomu Takeishi on bass and Rudy Royston on drums, the concert will bring you a unique night of musical contrast – at once delicate and graceful yet equally dynamic and explosive - under the autumn moonlight. “Myra Melford in Black & White” is part of the “Soul Live Project Series: Jazz through Time”.
When the sun goes down, and you simply want some good food and wine to go with a night of dreamy music, Soul Live Project Complex is where you should be! Remember to come dressed in black & white!

ABOUT SOUL LIVE PROJECT SERIES: JAZZ THROUGH TIME
Whether featured in movies like La La Land, Chicago, Midnight in Paris or through the storied lives of legends like Miles Davis, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, Jazz music represents improvisation, syncopation and rhythm. There are many styles of Jazz to be explored and the Soul Live Project Series is proud to bring you on this journey of discovery. By bringing to Vietnam internationally acclaimed artists such as David Binney, and in 2019 with Cuong Vu, guitarist Bill Frisell and pianist Myra Melford, we aim to present the masterful and innovative sounds of international, regional and local Jazz artists in the intimate setting of the Soul Live Project Complex. The “Soul Live Project Series: Jazz through Time” is under the direction of 2-time Grammy award winner - Mr. Cuong Vu as Artistic Director.
