Performing Arts Spring festival PAS 2018

The theatrical practice space ATH, collaborating with the French school Alexandre Yersin, with the support of French Embassy in Vietnam organizes the Performing Arts Spring festival PAS. 2018 edition takes place at the National Theater of Vietnam (1 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) during 3 days, May 18-19-20th.

PAS festival aims to celebrate all kinds of performing art by gathering all practices both amateur and professional in Vietnam and South East Asia. The 2018 edition gathers 23 groups of children and adults coming from different art fields: theatre & improv, dance and movement, music.

2. Venue: The National Theater of Vietnam (1 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem, Ha Noi).

Besides, a french-speaking improvisation tournament opposing 4 teams of players from 12 to 15 years old will be held for the first time this year. First match opens the festival at 7pm on Friday 18 of May, preceding « The next door », a French play by The Three Mosquitoes company coming from Bangkok (Thailand).

PAS festival is also a forum for multicultural exchange. This year, PAS festival is being enriched with the participation of Vietnamese artists in multiple domains : playback theatre (ViPlayback), experimental theatre (The Run – Trà Nguyen) and contemporary dance (Kinergie Studio). Additionally, Vietnamese and French musicians have teamed up to present their work during the Festival.

In parallel, this PAS edition brings to public various art workshops in three languages Vietnamese, English and French during 2 days the 19 and 20th May in the hall of National Theatre. Each workshop offers an excellent opportunity to practice for free during one or two hours different kinds of art as drama, puppet, storytelling, creative writing, plastic art and dance.

PAS festival has received the support of French Embassy in Vietnam, Agency for French Education Abroad AEFE, French school in Hanoi Alexandre Yersin, Ban Café and National Theatre of Vietnam.

1. About PAS Festival

PAS festival has been initiated and co-organized for the first time in 2015 by Quentin Delorme, Marianne Seguin, Anne Boulo, professor of French School of Hanoi and director of the Theater Company “Les Phap’bulateurs”, Céline Mariage French language assistant of Wallonie-Bruxelles International, University of Hanoi and Yanis Loggia, professor of the French School Alexandre Yersin.

Since 2015, PAS festival takes place every year in May, aiming to create a forum for multicultural art exchange between different art performers based in Vietnam and South East Asia.

2. Briefly about the organizer

Founded by Quentin Delorme, stage director, and Marianne Seguin, actress, ATH is the only Theatrical practice space in Hanoi open to everyone. ATH students are aged from 4 to 60 years. They study and work in numerous areas : public school, international school, public or private societies, international groups or NGOs … and come from many different fields : Press and Media, Design, Human Resources, Business, Education, and so on.
