Contemporary and past noise, electroacoustic, industrial, experimental music and sound art in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar/Burma, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam. With political, historical and sociological essays, exclusive interviews with artists and organizers, as well as an extensive bibliography of popular music from Southeast Asia and a thorough discography of noise and experimental music artists.
It's said to be “The first book aiming to chart the spread of noise music across South East Asia" (The Wire Magazine).
A compilation, which includes exclusive tracks from artists of these different regions as a companion to the book.

Spearker: Dimitri della Faille
As an experimental under the name Szkieve, since 1997, Dimitri della Faille has given performances, workshops and master classes in over 25 countries in Asia and Latin America. He has performed in a wide variety of alternative cultural venues, art galleries and more established festivals. In 1998, he founded the independent record label, Disques Hushush, from which he has released about 25 CDs and vinyls from experimental and noise artists from Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America.
For about ten years he sat on the artistic committee of the Association pour la création et la recherche électroacoustique du Québec (Association for research and creation in electroacoustic in Québec - ACREQ).

In this talk, Dimitri will present how the research was done, how the book was published, and how it was received. All the discussions from audiences involving in the book as well as the noise and experimental music scene in South East Asia are welcome.
