The woodwind instruments are an essential part of an orchestral ensemble, playing an important role in creating and conveying the music. With their diverse range of tones and wide range of technical expressions, woodwind instruments can produce melodies with high precision and flexibility, from lively and agile notes to long and mournful melodies that express deep and quiet emotions or powerful and energetic ones. The music produced by woodwind instruments has a special appeal and emotional resonance that connects deeply with the listener's soul, creating a unique atmosphere in the orchestral ensemble.
In May, Salon LYTHI is honoured to welcome the Saigon Woodwind Quintet, a woodwind quintet group of the Ho Chi Minh City Symphony Orchestra. Known for their performing talents and experience on many national and international stages, the group includes the following artists:
◾ Nguyen Nhat Chi Lan, flute.
◾ Pham Khanh Toan, oboe.
◾ Vo Minh Dong, clarinet.
◾ Tran Dai Nghia, French horn.
◾ A Tach, bassoon.
Together with pianist Le Pham My Dung, this concert will be a great opportunity to enjoy the most special works dedicated to woodwind instruments.
