Concert Jazzis no10 in Hanoi - When I Met You

"Dad, how’d you meet and.. fall in love with Mom?"

Acknowledging my curiosity, Dad only replies with a gentle smile. After all, I’m still left puzzled in my efforts to know Mom and Dad, who would shyly brush it off whenever receiving such questions. Despite that, Mom and Dad still manage to know whatever is going on with my life, shower me with unending parental love through daily mundane things.

I try to talk to my parents about their lives before I was born, how they met, places they've traveled, to no avail. There has to be some way to find out.

One day, I spotted some CD covers in Mom and Dad’s wardrobe with familiar names of ABBA, Stevie Wonder, and Lionel Richie. Listening to the songs, I immediately popped up questions. Did my parents jive to those songs like me? Did they also vibe with the melodies of Mamma Mia? Hello by Lionel Richie, what a masterpiece! Did they think the same?

And by that I realized: Music is the path to step into my parents’ world.
